17.96-carat Ceylon Padparadscha Sapphire Ring

At the center of this ring is a padparadscha sapphire, an extremely rare variety of sapphire with a color combination unlike any other colored gemstone in the world.

According to the American Gemological Laboratories, the gem originated in Sri Lanka (Ceylon), from where the finest padparadschas come. It also has the orangy-pink to pinkish-orange color unique to padparadschas, with no gemological evidence of heat treatment to enhance it.

Cabochon-cut padparadscha sapphires, meanwhile, are not often seen, making this sugarloaf stone even more special. Equally exceptional is its astounding 17.96-carat weight!

This ring is truly a treasure that contains perhaps the most valuable variety of sapphire and one of the most coveted gems in the world.
