4.68 Step Cut Minor Oil Colombian Emerald - SKU 1724
Here’s a Colombian emerald with only minor oil enhancement (a common and acceptable practice in the jewelry trade)—and boy is she sultry!
This 4.68-carat, step-cut beauty might be from the Muzo mine, which is said to produce the most outstanding Colombian emeralds with a darker tone of pure green.
Colombian emerald deposits are the only emerald deposits found in sedimentary rock as opposed to igneous rock. A saline solution in the sedimentary rock eventually washes out impurities such as iron. This lack of iron, along with the trace elements chromium and vanadium, give Colombian emeralds their coveted, lively color.
(Or she might just be Kryptonite. If that brings Superman to his knees, imagine what it will do to you.)
